In a six-player deal, the Mets trade reliever Tug McGraw to the Phillies along with outfielders Don Hahn and Dave Schneck in exchange for outfielder Del Unser, pitcher Mac Scarce, and catcher John Stearns. McGraw will quickly become a fan favorite in Philadelphia, helping the team in 1980 to win their first world championship in the 97-year history of the franchise.
